hello I’m charlotte
I’m a people photographer and I pride myself in being able to make people feel at ease in front of my camera. I shoot author headshots, personal branding sessions, documentary family and newborn portraits and events.
I grew up in the fine county of Norfolk, got my first class photography degree in London, then lived in London for 15 years before heading to the Kent countryside ( via 6 months in South Africa ). I’m a proud Mum of two, avid reader, runner and qualified athletics coach. I’ve loved sharks since I was three. ( JAWS an unusual choice of film from my babysitting godmother ) Where ever I am I seek out coffee shops to read in with top notch flat whites and accompanying baked goods.
I am a big Bruce Springsteen fan ( thanks Dad ) but if I could go back in time musically and nostalgically I would go to the 90s. Sometimes I channel the 90s and 80s through my clothes. I’ve been known to rock a bit of double denim.

Work with me
I have been a photographer for over 20 years and have shot everything from tiny newborns, Jazz musicians to royalty and chickens! ( via shooting an author headshot at an ice wall! ) After graduating from my Photographic Arts degree I spent 7 years working in a top London Literary and Talent Agency. Here I learnt to draft contracts, read book submissions, chased money and accompanied Dawn French to meetings. This job cemented my love of working with people and books!
I have worked with such a wide variety of people from different professions and walks of life and I really pride myself in being able to make anyone and everyone feel at ease having their photograph taken. I absolutely love working with people and wholeheartedly feel that getting to know the person in front of my camera and understanding their personality is key to capturing a great photo.

How does it feel to have a shoot with me? easy.
Very few people like having their photograph taken, me included. You wouldn’t think from this photo, hey? ( Thank you Rob! ) Find yourself a great photographer who makes you feel comfortable and you can really see it in the final photos.
Why work with me? My shoots are always relaxed, never rushed, with lots of time for chatting and breathers. We’ll work together to create a great set of images. I’ll gently direct and guide when needed during the shoot.

HOW IT WORKS
LET’S CHAT
We’ll jump on the phone or grab a zoom call ahead of the shoot to say hi and for me to answer any questions and queries. We will go through timings and locations and I’ll calm any nerves you may have!
THE SHOOT
We’ll meet at our shoot location and grab a coffee to ease into it. A quick chat then I’ll introduce my camera and we’ll get going. The shoot will be super relaxed with no pressure, with me guiding and directing when needed.
THE PHOTOS
You will receive your images up to 2 weeks after your shoot date. Just shout if you are on a tighter deadline and we can work something out. High resolution Images are delivered via an online password protected gallery. Products will be available to buy through your gallery. I can be on hand to advise about image printing and even album design.

Charlotte took my first ever author photos. I was unbelievably nervous and couldn’t sleep the night before. But she’s just such a wonderful person to hang out with – it was like meeting up with a friend and having a laugh. I think the best photos come out that way. When your smile is genuine, it shows.
